commissions. let’s work together.

size & space. the first step in creating a custom piece for your space is to look at the room in which the art will hang. with my design background and my love for interiors, its important to me that the art fits perfectly as if it was the finishing piece of a puzzle. what size does it need to be? what is the design of the room? do you have a preference for framing? is there a color theme? you get the idea. we will look at all of these elements together and decide what works best before i start sketching.

ideas & inspiration. what images make you feel inspired, happy, calm, complete? if you have come to me for a commission, you know that i’m inspired by nature and coastal landscapes. i love to look at flora in a bold graphic composition and turn landscapes into fluid blocks of color. which one of my paintings has connected with you? what would you like to see in your space everyday? we will choose together what kinds of images you have in mind by looking through magazines, pinterest, photos you or i have taken, or past paintings i have done. *please note: all of my work is original and i do not copy other paintings or photos from other artists.

sketching. i start with a few watercolor or acrylic sketches on paper for your piece, to give you an idea of what we’ve discussed to make sure we are on the same page. once i have your approval, the painting begins. at this point, i typically allow for 4-6 weeks for completion of each piece (sometimes shorter depending on the size and mediums.)

pricing. my prices for commissioned pieces vary, but run about %15 more than ready made pieces to account for time spent putting together a cohesive piece that meets all of your wishes. i ask for a 50% deposit to begin, with the remaining balance, plus shipping, due once your painting is complete. once you have approved the final design and i have received the remaining balance, the painting is shipped and ready to be yours.

i’d love to work with you.
